How Do I Rate Work?
Please note that the EdSteps Rating Process is not yet live.  EdSteps anticipates launching the rating process for Writing by October 1, 2010.

If you already have an Epsilen account, simply log in to get started. If you do not yet have an account, click here to create an account.

Once you are logged in, go to the EdSteps link and select “Compare Work” and you are ready to go. There you will be provided with instructions for rating and offered a brief tutorial to better understand the rating process.

When you are ready to start rating, you will be given some basic information about the skill area in which you are rating. You will then be asked to look at two pieces of student work and determine which is better.

Finally, you will be asked to provide some basic information about why you made your selection. That’s it!  You will have successfully completed a comparison and will be asked to move on to a new pair of work samples. Our hope is that each person will review a minimum of 10 pairs of student work samples but there is no limit - rate as many as you like!

This process for reviewing work is unlike others you may have done. We are not providing you with a pre-determined rubric. Rather, EdSteps cares about your judgment.
