Creativity is one of the skill categories for which EdSteps will create a continuumo of student work. The EdSteps Creativity Project will begin collecting work samples in the fall of 2010.
 
When the EdSteps Creativity Project’s announces its request for work, it will include all necessary details for schools, teachers, students and individuals from all professions to submit samples of work that demonstrate creativity.

Until then, included below is basic information about the EdSteps Creativity Project and expected details of the request for work samples.
 
Definition of Creativity

Creativity is the valued uses and outcomes of originality driven by imagination, invention, and curiosity. 
 
 
Types of Samples the Project Will Seek

The EdSteps Creativity Project is dedicated to collecting samples of work from authors of all ages, including students from Pre-K through elementary school through college and adults of all professions.

Who is Involved in the EdSteps Creativity Project

The EdSteps Creativity Project is part of the overall EdSteps project and is led by the Council of Chief State School Officers and funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The committee working on the Creativity Project is chaired by Dr. Russ Quaglia, President and Founder of the Quaglia Institute for Student Aspirations. The committee is made up of members of various state departments of education, school leaders and other organizations dedicated to promoting creativity.
